THE RECKONING
This project started many years ago innocently enough. While watching Metallica vids with my buddy Russ, we decided that we were gonna learn how to play guitar and start our own bands someday. From that point on I practiced my guitar (which was a hand me down from my older bro) everyday, playing Metallica songs for hours on end. Over time my skills improved and I started crafting my writing skills constructing little riffs and such. Through the years, I’ve played with a handful of players honing my style and efficiency with each endeavor. About 5 years ago I purchased a Boss digital 8-Track and a drum machine. This is when the real creative process started to shape in to the songs that many of you are listening to today.
As I started writing more and more songs, each song became more elaborate than the last. It was soon clear that I had an elevated ability in songwriting, producing songs from an almost scientific approach. To me, each instrument has its own place within a song. The guitar leads the front, taking the listener on a musical journey of melody and harmony, followed by the drums, a precise rhythmic counterpart, pummeling through the melodies intricate nuances and accents. And last but not least, the bass, rounding out the low end adding massive power and boom to the piece.
And that my friends, is The Reckoning: A group of like minded individuals, hell bent on delivering an auditory experience like no other, where a song is not a song unless all the pieces fall into their respective places. Each guitar line and every drum hit is meticulously placed for what we like to call the “boom” effect. When that piece of music explodes in your ears and you can literally feel the movement and the force of the music.
We hope to see all of you on a stage sometime soon. We are very eager to start something big. Till then…
