L.A.T.C.H.
What does L.A.T.C.H. stand for? Although the band members won’t reveal what the five-letter acronym really stands for, fans’ guesses are Leave All The Chicks At Home, Love And Then Comes Happiness and Life Against Time Creates Havoc.

Their name might keep us guessing, but their music is undoubtedly modern rock, with each member’s own personal touch, of course. The band was originally formed in 1998, by guitarist Patrick Angeloni. Bassist Robert Choe played with the group for a time, but then left to pursue other musical interests. L.A.T.C.H. found their front man in 2001, when Janosz answered an ad that Angeloni had placed on the internet. Angeloni and Janosz began jamming and writing songs immediately. “There was an undeniable musical chemistry between us,” recalls Janosz. Choe re-joined the band later that same year much to the delight of Angeloni. When Angeloni had heard Choe playing bass in a guitar store years before he knew he had found the bottom end to complement his provocative guitar arrangements. L.A.T.C.H. completed it’s lineup when drummer Jay Fritzsch joined the band in late 2002.

The band is committed to making music that is universal, diverse and timeless. Each member of L.A.T.C.H. hails from a strong musical background. Janosz, for example, has been singing and playing guitar since he was sixteen, having settled with L.A.T.C.H. after stints with two previous bands. His soulful melodies and passionate lyrics evoke a variety of emotions, ranging from reflection to rage to joy. His powerful stage presence grips the audience, and his tremendous devotion to performing and making music is evident in the emotional performances he gives each and every night.

Angeloni, who attributes his style to his family and his musical background, is another key element of L.A.T.C.H.’s chemistry. Angeloni is actively involved in the production, lyrics and arrangement of the band’s music. His broad spectrum of tones and crazy effects produces a sound that only he can claim.

Schooled in music theory and possessing a background in jazz and rock music, Choe further complements the line-up with the haunting sounds of his fretless bass. His influences range broadly from Christian and classic rock to alternative rock. Choe’s addition to L.A.T.C.H. adds a colorful and diverse angle to the band’s music.

Finally, Fritzsch brings a jazz/fusion background to L.A.T.C.H.’s mix. After playing in several local lineups, Fritzsch finally found the band that allows him to display his broad range of influences. His rounded style of playing allows L.A.T.C.H. to keep their tight rhythm while exploring the greater spectrum of musical sound.

Since they began playing numerous gigs in various venues throughout New York and New Jersey in 2001, the band has gathered a considerable following. They have also been recording steadily and are in search of a record deal.

L.A.T.C.H. is determined to be a mainstay of the music industry and to continue producing heart-felt rock ‘n roll. Although drawing upon a number of diverse influences, ranging from Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd to Stone Temple Pilots and Our Lady Peace, L.A.T.C.H's music is both uncategorizable and unparalleled. The band’s unique inspiration gives them a sound that is truly one-of-a-kind.
