OCD
The most recent edition to the new music scene is original funk-rockers OCD. Hailing from the Morristown NJ area, the power trio blends driving grooves and unique melodies with memorable hooks. The vast influences of the band members allow OCD to create poignant new music that is at once listenable and radio friendly, yet not quite like anything you’ve actually heard before. Within the boundaries of an OCD experience exists a hybrid of rock & and funk, with a sprinkling of jazz and even hip hop elements as the band rockets through unusual chord progressions and an uncanny command of time. From the stage, one can envision a sea of heads moving to the music, and music lovers from all backgrounds converging to unite themselves with the energy of OCD.
After the death of their original singer, OCD began to regroup and rework their format as a three-piece. The guitarist, chris, took over the role of lead singer, while bassist greg also provides lead vocals on some songs. Drummer vaughn’s bass-drum dominated grooves underlie the melodies being weaved by the bass and the guitar. Recent shows in New York City and Hoboken have planted the seed within the public’s mind that OCD will be a force to be reckoned with.
